Over 150 CPA members and stakeholders attended our evening reception at Exchange House, Broadgate.
CPA Chair Gareth Roberts (British land) gave an opening speech detailing the innovative retrofitting and improvements to Exchange House and the on-going transformation of the Broadgate estate.
Recently appointed Chief Executive and Town Clerk of the City of London Corporation Ian Thomas CBE gave his first public address to the City’s property industry. He set out his priorities leading the Corporation and his vision for the future of the City of London. The 51st Town Clerk explained the aims behind the City Belonging Project– which is about building a more inclusive Square Mile – as well as wider ambitions on delivering economic and social prosperity and helping grow the City’s role on the global stage.
Katy Ghahremani (Make Architects and WPA Board) rounded off the speeches by introducing the newly launched London Property Alliance’s (CPA + WPA) Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Committee of which she is Co-Chair.
The event was hosted by British Land at Exchange House. Originally built in 1990, Exchange House is an innovative building-bridge hybrid: its form and structure are built on an exposed steel bridge spanning a 78-meter-long rail yard, enabling the Liverpool Street Station to function normally underneath this 10-story office building.
