We are delighted to be leading the CPA NextGen Steering Group, especially in such unprecedented times. It has been a pleasure being part of the committee for the past two years and we would like to thank Paula Gonzalez (Project Director at John Robertson Architects) for her outstanding work as the first CPA NextGen Chair. Last week the CPA NextGen Leadership Team met virtually using Skype to formulate our collective NextGen response to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis and look forward to sharing this with members in the near future.
As a group, we are adapting to our new way of working as we move to engaging with our programme in a more digitally focused way. Working with the CPA Executive, we have formulated a NextGen workplan to ensure that we remain active and engaged with our membership. Over the coming weeks we will be meeting virtually as a group and on a 1-2-1 basis to articulate our plans for the coming year.
At our last committee meeting, it was agreed that our programme, sponsored by NextGen partner Gardiner & Theobald, will focus on industry disruptors: external forces and macrotrends facing the future of the built environment in the City. Our programme will explore how the real estate sector will respond to these factors and feature speakers from different sectors. This is more relevant now, more than ever, as our industry addresses and responds to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.
We plan to carry on with this programme going forward but understand aspects may have to be reconsidered in light of the current circumstances. Later this week, the CPA NextGen Committee will meet on Zoom to discuss programme planning. In the meantime, you can keep up to date with our programme on Instagram.
