The carbon view: what do occupiers want?

25 March 2025 to 25 Mar 2025
8:00 am to 10:00 am

The City of London Corporation aims to be net zero by 2040 and deliver at least 1.2m sqm of Grade A office space in order to meet occupier demand and accommodate employment projections. Yet, occupiers are increasingly looking for amenity-rich spaces with large floorplates, lots of light and high ceilings, all of which come with a carbon cost that may impact whether or not a building can be categorised as net zero.

Featuring an interactive audience poll, this seminar will explore the tensions between delivering the spaces that people want to work in, while adhering to stretching climate targets on embodied and operational carbon.

Hosted at Edenica, 100 Fetter Lane, this latest development by BauMont Real Estate Capital and YardNine will provide 90,000 sq ft of Grade A office workspace and includes benefits such as natural ventilation, terraces and a public garden. Designed by Fletcher Priest Architects and Waterman Group, it is the first UK scheme to adopt ‘material passporting’ and whole life cycle building analysis, while also using NABERS to monitor and verify operational performance.

Speakers to be announced.
