200 members and stakeholders joined us at The Leadenhall Building to explore the City of London Corporation’s most recent policies, the draft City Plan 2040 and Sustainability SPD.
Shravan Joshi MBE (Chairman, Planning & Transportation Committee, City of London Corporation) gave a keynote speech on the City’s ambitions to create an inclusive and sustainable business destination.
This was followed by a presentation from Rob McNicol (Assistant Director, Planning Policy & Strategy) who provided an overview of the City Plan 2040.
An expert panel discussed:
- How flexible ground floor space will be key in encouraging a mix of cultural and leisure uses to attract young visitors and workers – creating a 24-hour city
- The importance of public realm in knitting together the City’s key cultural anchors and transport nodes, as well as improvements to its key areas of change
- Demand for Grade A office space in the City remains strong, with low vacancy rates for best in class buildings
- The City to remain a core commercial hub complemented by the City Corporation’s Destination City vision.
